5 Facebook Ad Tips - E-Commerce Edition

Here are my top 5 tips that should be used for E-commerce stores when running Facebook Ads in 2021.

  1. Show off your products with carousel ads

You can show off up to 10 different products using carousel ads with 10 different call to actions.

This means the user can click on the specific product that catches their eye and visit that exact landing page. This means no faffing about for the customer and they get the information about the product including the price, availability, reviews etc instantly.

Makes for a super easy customer experience and this style of advertising is seriously effective.

2. Retarget AND exclude.

Ok so I’ve chatted about how class the retargeting features are that Facebook provides but don’t forget you can REALLY get specific and get even more out of your ads by excluding anyone who recently made a purchase.

Example: Retargeting anyone who added to their cart in the last 7 days AND excluding anyone who made a purchase in the last 7 days. This way your ad will only go to those who didn’t finalise their purchase - and will stop your ad going in front of those that did buy from your store.

3. Ad Objective: Conversion

When wanting sales, to get the most out of your ads choose conversion and make sure you have optimised to run your facebook ad for ‘purchases’. Makes sense right. If you tell Facebook you want sales that’s what they’re gonna get you. If you ask for video views, they’ll get you those too. But my guess is you’re after more sales, so tell Facebook that by choosing conversion: purchase.

This is insanely important and I cover why, and how to do this in my Facebook Ads Course here.

4. LLA: Purchase

This is an insanely cool audience for you to use if you’re already getting purchases on your online store. (LLA stands for Lookalike Audiences by the way.)

You can provide Facebook with the data of customers that have already made a purchase from your store, and Facebook can go and find Facebook users that LOOK like your current customers - based on their behaviours, spending habits, profiles, activity etc.

LLA audiences can be really great if you already have a strong customer base that Facebook can use to find brand spanking new customers for your store.

5. Target people who have spent the most time on your site.

Honestly this is one of my FAVOURITE audiences to send ads out to. You can literally target website visitors who spent the most time on your website.

Example: Visitors by Time Spent: Top 25% in the past 30 Days

You can even narrow it down to the top 10%, or even the top 5% and hit the hottest of audiences.

These are my top 5 tips that all e-commerce stores should be doing when running Facebook Ads in 2021.. If you want to learn all about how to run, set up and have successful ads that work then check out my Facebook Ads Course Here
